Lets Make History…

There lived a lady in the interior part of Gujarat. She depended on two persons. Those persons were not human beings , but they were buffaloes. All her family expenditures were met by selling milk in the nearby villages and towns. She could have even exported it to any foreign countries. This possibility is proved by the diary giant AMUL.
Amul was a co-operative federation. It was first started by people of Kheda district in Gujarat and then it is the brand for GCMMF (Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation). It depends on 27 lakhs milk producers. The history of Amul is quiet interesting to read. That was the time were India is a colony for British. The East India Company was established in Bombay and due to that the population of Bombay increased rapidly and at one stage the demand of milk was high. So in order to increase the supply the authorities decided to procure milk from Anand the district of Gujarat (note: Anand is called as the milk capital of India). Firstly they outsourced the job of procuring the milk from the Kheda village of Anand district to a person named “Pestonji Edulji Dalal”. He did the duty quiet well but in the desire of earning high profits he bought the milk from peoples at much lower prices. Because of that people opposed him and protested against the authorities stating to permit selling of milk directly.
Then as a result of the struggle people of Kheda were permitted to sell milk directly. Now people of Kheda joined together and started a cooperative society, and that trend is followed by villages around Anand district. This is then spread to all parts of Gujarat. The GCMMF (Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation) is formed. Dairy products produced were named as Amul and is the leader of dairy market at present. This growth is not by single persons production , its based on the 27 lakhs milk producers.
Amul is the perfect example for success by cooperation. The same kind of cooperation is needed to make this blog a grand success. Its important to equip ourselves. Because the growth and success of Amul is possible only if the people under it are developed in their economical status. Likewise , the success of this blog depends on how we develop our skills by sharing the information. So come on guys we need to make it happen.
